Papworth Trust is currently recruiting walkers and volunteers for a 50km for £50k fundraising walk on Saturday 16 June 2012. This is the third time the Trust has run the event, and this year it will be supported by sponsors Bidwells and Barclays.
Walkers
Papworth Trust needs teams of between 4-6 people to do the walk and help us achieve our fundraising target of £50k. All members of the team will walk 50km together in just one day, and will be asked to raise at least £2,000 sponsorship per team for their efforts. Prizes will be awarded to the team who raises the largest amount of sponsorship money, as well as the fastest team to complete the walk. The scenic route follows parts of the ancient Icknield Way, starting deep in Thetford Forest in Suffolk and finishing in the village of Burrough Green in Cambridgeshire, where Papworth Trust will host a well earned celebration. If you're interested in taking part, please contact Marcus Barber, Supporter Relations Manager, by email at marcus.barber@papworth.org.uk or by phone on 01480 357200 (extension 1147).
Volunteers
Papworth Trust needs volunteers to help run the event as marshals, drivers, checkpoint managers and signage walkers. Refreshments will be provided, including a barbecue in the evening for all-day troopers. If you can help out for the day, or just half a day, please get in touch with George Ferguson by email at george.ferguson@papworth.org.uk or by phone on 01480 357200.
